Translational Research on AI for Reproductive Health
Interdisciplinary training on translational research on AI for reproductive health. Students explore the full pipeline from problem definition and data collection to model development, evaluation, and real-world implementation, with an emphasis on global contexts, equity, and ethics. Through case studies, guest speakers, practical labs, and community-engaged activities, students learn to work with real-world reproductive health data, collaborate with diverse partners, and design AI systems that are safe, effective, human-centered, and socially responsible.

Navigating AI Ethics in Healthcare
An accessible, case-based introduction to the ethical dimensions of AI in health and society. Each week explores a real-world AI application through a different ethical lens, from bias and fairness to privacy, accountability, and environmental impact. Emphasizing discussion and collaborative projects over technical depth, the course helps students critically assess AI systems using practical frameworks like model cards and AI “nutrition labels,” and develop ethically grounded critiques of emerging technologies.

Applied Co-design: Affordable and Sustainable Healthcare Technologies, mHealth & Informatics
An interdisciplinary overview of introducing sustainable healthcare technology in resource-constrained regions, covering needs evaluation, supply chain and usability design, financial sustainability, and the ethics of low-cost care. In mixed-discipline teams and with close faculty mentorship, students build mobile-based (mHealth) solutions to real-world problems such as clean water delivery or perinatal monitoring, with pilot implementations facilitated with local partners where possible.
